My Portraits

I became hooked on black and white portrait photography from my first attempt. And then I kept going, working in the studio, street, countryside, and other locations with a bunch of wonderful people.
B&W Portraits from the street, studio & beyond

These black and white portraits of mine were taken in New Zealand (my home) and London (where I go from time to time). The people you see work in the creative industries and other professions that range from architects to accountants.

The Black and White Picture Photographer
The black and white portraits were taken by me, David, a New Zealand based photographer. The locations in London were Shoreditch, Pimlico, Camden and Haringey. In New Zealand, the locations were in Auckland and Mount Maunganui and Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty.
I have portraits of artists too if they’re your cup of tea. The artists include musicians, actors, and more.
Some kind words from people
I’ve been blessed to work with some amazing people across the creative industries, and very much hope to work with them again one day. Here are a few of their very generous thoughts about working with me.

Photo essays
If you’re still keen to see more of my work, I have a photo essay page. Photo essays range from time spent with South Sudanese civil war refugees, to a Royal Wedding, to an ongoing photo essay about how people react to music.
