A little about me

A man holding a camera takes a photo of a woman sat on the other side of the room

This is me, David Dunham, the photographer behind the images on The Black and White Picture. I’m upstairs in a London studio, working on a portrait series. I’d like to end it there, but the very name of an About page says I should at least share something about me. So, I’ll do my best. Here it goes:

I live in New Zealand and was born in this wee place called Invercargill. I’ve been obsessed with Liverpool Football Club since I was a kid. I like waistcoats, hip hop, old-school house music, football terraces, protests, the London Underground, Edwardian architecture and black and white photography.

Thank you for dropping by.

Further testimonials

“I had the honour of David taking my portrait last weekend. David is so easy to work with, he made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves. I was feeling very nervous and worried I’d get awkward, posed shots but David gives great direction and makes the experience a breeze. His photos are absolutely beautiful. Super fast turn around and excellent communication. Thanks again David, look forward to working with you again soon!”

“I’ve worked with black and white picture photographer David on a couple of occasions, both street photography and on a bridal shoot. On each occasion I received outstanding pictures on the basis that he’s extremely easy and welcoming to work with, and has a natural creative flair. Likewise, when working in a group of other models, he is very efficient at organising us as a group, yet he is still personable. “We worked with David for our boutique music festival, the River Sounds Festival and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and captured some incredible photos on the day.
